"The jury was still out Thursday after a German doctor successfully conducted Britain's first public autopsy in more than 170 years, charging spectators $19 a head for the event in an East London art gallery. "Prof. Gunther von Hagens defied government warnings that he did not have the appropriate licenses and performed the examination Wednesday evening before a sellout crowd and TV cameras. The autopsy was held at the London gallery where his Body Worlds exhibition of preserved human corpses has already courted controversy.
